While this application indeed helps you get rid of problems caused by Windows' Autoplay feature, novices might have a hard time figuring it out. Autoplay Repair has a neatly designed interface, but it suffers from a missing help file, which is necessary to know how to begin using this tool. The Autoplay Manager lets you assign handlers for CDs and DVDs, images, plus audio and video files, and you also can disable the autoplay feature on specified drives. It has direct access to the Run section of your Registry, and any changes you specify are automatically applied. The backup feature allows you to create a copy of the autorun sections of the Registry. If necessary, you can easily restore deleted entries. This freeware won't suit novice users, but heavy users of media files can benefit from this app.Publisher's description
From OrangeBlue :This tool has been written to remove corrupted entries from Windows XP's autoplay. The background is that after an uninstallation of several applications like media players, some invalid entries still may remain in Windows XP's autoplay sections. These are visible every time a CD or DVD is put into the drive and the autoplay selection dialog appears. Now with Autoplay Repair it is possible to remove these invalid entries and even create new or modify existing so called autoplay handlers quickly and easily. But this tool can also be used to remove unwanted entries or just to clean Windows XP's autoplay sections for a better overview. In addition to that Autoplay Repair has some other necessary features to offer.
What's new in this version:
Version 2.2 includes multi Language support giving the user the ability to create his own language files. Completely rewritten Autorun Cleanup section, now it is possible to deactivate/activate single autorun entries. Backup section: Deleted backup files (*.reg) will be moved into Window's recycle bin. Some minor changes.More popular System Utilities downloads
