This reference-based program contains basic information about aromatherapy and essential oils, but users will find the program's poor interface design and problems with navigation hinder its educational value. Aromatherapy's crowded interface includes 15 large buttons, and each one launches a new window, which quickly clutters the screen. Users will find that the navigation is awkward and the desired content is difficult to locate. Information includes categories such as Safety, Storage, and Therapeutic Indications. Even though the database also includes helpful content such as quality of ingredients, measurements, and equivalents of combining oils, the trial version extremely limits the number of suggestions that can be viewed. The trial also disables the View Pictures, Print Data and Look Up Oils By Use features. Overall this program may be helpful for users wanting to know more about aromatherapy, but the limitations make the trial difficult to use.
Aromatherapy and Essential Oils lists aromatic oils and indications. The shareware version includes general information, important Safety Tips, medicinal Actions and Indications of Essential Oils (page 1: Angelica to Birch), Base Oils (page 1: Aloe to Evening Primrose) and Antioxidant information. Registration provides access to all program areas, including 107 Essential Oils, 38 Bach Flower Remedies, 250+ Indications and a full color Foot Reflexology Chart.
