Arclab Thumb Studio provides users with an advanced program for sorting, resizing, and viewing their computer's digital photo collection. With smooth direction and well-planned design this will help a lot of people get organized.

This program's professional interface was a big plus for us. Users are shown a wizard-like tool featuring screens containing various project options, all in a smooth, easy-to-use flow. The screens are so simple to navigate that most users will not need to look at the User's Manual PDF that comes with the program. Actually designing a photo album, slideshow, or batch processing job takes a little bit of foresight, as some of the parameters needed to fill in the blanks are aimed at more advanced users. However, once you get the accustomed to the parameters, the entire process of choosing settings, producing the work, and neatly saving it to the destination of your choice takes only minutes. Throughout the process, this program's features to enhance, adjust and dial in your pictures' look make it rise above simply stuffing all your digital snapshots into a traditional file folder.

We were pleased with this freeware's easy navigation, intuitive layout, and problem-free performance. Anyone looking to get their pictures into a more organized place should download Arclab Thumb Studio and give it a shot.

Once a photo album has been created, there doesn't appear to be a way to add to it without re-creating the whole album.

Easy to use. Adjustable size $ quality settings. More settings than most users need. Built in FTP to upload thumbs and compressed full size images.

For a free program this really should not be free. It has a multitude of features for creating web albums and slide shows. Thumb quality & size is adjustable. You can even re-size full photos to fit an average screen and adjust the quality. This comes in handy when you need to cut down on stored file space on your server. The built-in FTP client is simple and opens 2 windows when used. One is your "output" file or folder on your computer and the other is to your server's. You simply drag and drop from your computer to the server. Documentation is simple and easy to understand. Actually one will find that they will not have to use the "owners manual" very often as the program is layed out in a very natural way with pop-up prompts when you need them.

Did my thumbs the way I wanted. Easily, and quickly. The file sizes were exactly what I wanted, and the pics were of decent quality. I have tried a few others, and they were not as easy to use.
Cons
None. I did not however experience many of the other features, I only needed thumbs for a website I was working on.

Pros
I just needed this product to resize photo from a camera to the internet. I down sized them with ease and was then able to down loaded them to my cell phone.

When installing, forces you to add program to Startup menu; inflexible upload options for finished projects.

Once my first project was finished, I found the problems. The main problem is that the program hides the project folder (and HTML files). So the only way to access them again is through the Arclab software interface. Further complicating the process, there is not a menu of recent projects, not that I could find, anyway. Because the files are hidden (even if one has "show hidden files" on one's PC), a user cannot go into one's own file directory and copy the htm files from there. Because the two "publish" (or upload) options in the software do not mesh with my office environment, I was unable to copy and paste into my server or into my existing HTML pages. A frustrating experience, all-in-all.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Aug 18, 2009<p/>PS: I did try to find a work around to the upload problem and eventually *thought* I had copied all necessary files to our server, but I never was able to get it to work as it did on my PC when I created it.

It has a wizard that walks you through selecting your options.

Unfortunately, the wizard didn't work very well and many options were not explained or even given. Errors were also never explained, leaving me wondering why it could do thumbnails in one folder but not in another.

I'm sure there are better programs out there and you might be better off looking for one of them.

I agree with the others about the manual. Instructions are very poor regarding installing it on your local website. I also could not find a way to go back and make changes to the projects once they were done.

Very easy to create the slideshows, offers many options but most are OK at the default

Once the web intergrated show is complete the instructions are awful as to how to get it to upload on your site. Once you close the program and reload the images folder upon restart you lose any comments you added.

Product manual sucks...spent way too much time trying to figure out their instructions for uploading the slideshow to my website. I even bought the upgrade hoping for more info. NADA...stay away and look elsewhere.

simple Instalation <p> <p> <p>When you first open up Arclab Thumb Studio 1.5 You see a clean start page. first pick the type of slide show(It helps you pick with a preiew and description),pick template, select settings(I Keep the defalt),Select images(You can pick folders at a time),select destination folder, it will show a preview, and use the cool FTP tool(or another one)To load it on to the WWW. <p> <p>The FTP tool shows two windows the Files on your server, and on your computer. <p> <p>If you don't load it on to the internet its a cool <p>e-mail attatchment.
