apple dvd player is very convertient for me to playback my dvd media file on Mac

when I want to directly play my dvd on apple dvd player,it can't do that,so I need a third part program which can help me copy dvd to dvd media file,then I can play that!

This would not work with my G3 Blue and White Mac with OS 10.2 pci video. I wanted to use a Sony external firewire/USB cd dvd/rw. Only the CD works with either the firewire or USB connection on the Mac. The DVD feature would not work. The same drive works with my Windows computer using the included DVD software.

Summary
I was hoping for a fix for my DVD player in my Biege G3/300 A/V Tower, running 9.2.2
It hasen't worked since I intalled System 9. It shows in the DVD in System Profile. Reads CDs fine, but will not play any DVDs.
I've been looking for a fix for a long time. I read somewhere that I will have to go back to System 8.5 for the DVD/drive to play DVD's. Anyone out there know how to help please emailk me-robertcall@cox.net.
