Despite some installation problems, this application offers more extensive features than the ordinary Windows Notepad. Another Notepad has a basic text-editing structure lined with file-header menus. Aside from the usual functions, you can change the case of letters, insert customized text files, insert line numbering, and add tabs. Go to the Launch menu to create shortcuts for your favorite applications. The program also lets you create shortcuts for your favorite files. Another Notepad also can convert text into the Unix format. We encountered some occasional glitches when loading on a Windows XP machine, though it worked fine with other operating systems. There's a generous 60-day trial for this Notepad replacement that offers any user more text-editing options.

Another Notepad features sort lines of text alphabetically, convert blocks of text to all uppercase or lowercase, merge two files together. Wordstar key commands, smart tabs, auto-indentation, user-definable margins, word wrapping, change fonts, load 2GB files, and spell checker.
