This application offers a virtual online disguise, although it doesn't always follow through as promised. Anonymous Forum Buddy creates an additional toolbar on Internet Explorer with your current IP address and a lengthy dropdown list of proxies and their host countries among its options. Simply choose a proxy and click the icon to enable it, and Anonymous Forum Buddy will test for its availability. We had to test several proxies before finally connecting to a usable one, only to find that a problem with the host connection prevented us from surfing. Although we were able to eventually connect with a fake proxy, the move significantly slowed our browsing speed and hampered our connectivity. With only 50 opportunities to launch your browser with this toolbar in effect, users will quickly find that another option for IP anonymity is the best option.Publisher's description

This way you can surf, read mail, news, participate in newsgroups without revealing your real IP address. Pros: As simple as easy. I was banned on a chat forum but using this application i could keep on chating on it.

"not what you're looking for..."
Pros: None.
Cons: The other reviews must have been written by people representing the company. The software often causes IE 7 to shut down unexpectedly. After many attempts, I finally found an IP that "worked." But, then I went to an IP detection website just to test out if this software really masked my own address. It did not, the site showed my local address, not the 'anonymous' IP address i had chosen.

"Is NOT $19.95, it is $5.95 per month. Does NOT work."
Pros: None that I know of.
Cons: I tried the free trial. My IP was still clearly visible. The software does NOT cost $19.95, it costs $5.95 a month for their service! And they will try to sell you an upgrade that costs even more. Beware.
