This free file encryption programs straightforward user interface and flawless performance make it one of the better programs we've seen.
Androsa FileProtector's simple, but a professional user interface makes this a great encryption program for beginners and no-fuss users. The menu options and toolbar run across the top, along with a technical support and Web site button. The main window displays the encrypted files. It's easy to add a file, especially with the option of dragging and dropping them onto the interface. One click on the protect button, and you simply choose your encryption algorithm and enter a password. We were able to just as quickly and easily decrypt files.
We loved this program for its no-nonsense approach to file encryption and highly recommend it for all users. It didn't leave any traces on our computer when we uninstalled it.

"Fast, easy, and very safe file encryption"
Pros: This free software can protect your file(s) with a complicated encrption algorithm. It's easy to encrypt and decrypt your file(s). All really required of you is to type in a password and basically tell it to encrypt your file(s) it only takes seconds. It's fast, it's easy to use, and it's free. Loving it!
Cons: No cons really. This is a user-friendly software that doesn't require much brain.

Pros: This is very easy to use, it has never failed to decrypt properly and since the CIA feels comfortable with AES encryption, I guess that my files are pretty safe.
Cons: There are no cons.

"Very useful, easy to use, keeps files safe."
Pros: This program is simple to setup and then simple to use, yet with all the simplicity it is very powerful to protect your files. It allows for batch encrypting or just simply encrypting a single file. It's free and bug free.
Cons: I have used this now for about a year and don't see any real negatives to this program.
Summary: I have looked for other ways to keep files on my computer safe. It gives me great piece of mind to know the sensitive files on my laptop are encrypted, if my computer was stolen or comprimised in any way I at least know that the perpetrator will not... read more >>
