This robust newsgroup reader is excellent for accessing large media files. Featuring an attractive, tabbed interface, Android Newsgroup Downloader is simple to use. Its automated, wizard-like setup feature quickly moves a first-time user through its functions for easy downloading and reading.

This reader offers multithreaded downloading for quick access to posts, particularly those potentially large media files (e-books, video, audio).

Android features a separate To Do List pane that lets you choose and save headers for later downloading and reading. Built-in bandwidth counters let you review the amount of data transmitted or received, categorized by session or since installation.

Further, the Throughput-O-Meter provides a graphical display for performance during uploading or downloading. Android Newsgroup Downloader offers plenty of bells and whistles for the experienced user and all the simplicity a novice could desire. We recommended it for any and all.

Android Newsgroup Downloader is an advanced multithreaded newsgroup downloader program for alt.binaries newsgroups. It is designed especially for handling large files such as movies, music, applications, and archives. It's also good for downloading pictures and other small attachments. Android uses a queue-oriented design. Drag and drop the files you want into the queue (or "to-do list") and Android will download them for you automatically. Android downloads any type of file from a newsgroup, including VOB, MPEG, AVI, MP3, WAV, JPEG, GIF, BMP, PCX, RAR, PAR, and EXE. Supports yEnc, mime, and base64. Android has many user-friendly features, including a built in queue manager that saves your "to-do" list from session to session, and a history that keeps track of what you have downloaded. Includes support for encrypted usenet services. Built-in newsreader and message and file posters. Shareware version is fully functional with no time limits, expiration, or disabled features.

Version 6.1 adds enhanced Windows Vista support and configurable header limit for very large groups.
