Publisher's Description
From Altova:
Altova XMLSpy 2013 Enterprise Edition is the industry's best-selling XML editor and XML development environment for modeling, editing, transforming, and debugging XML technologies. In addition to the world's leading XML editor, XMLSpy includes a graphical XML Schema editor that allows you to design complex schemas with ease. Extensive schema and WSDL documentation options are also provided. Revolutionary new Smart Fix validation not only reports validation errors, but suggests options for fixing them with one click, making troubleshooting a breeze. XMLSpy autogenerates Java, C++, or C# class files based on XML Schemas. It also includes a schema-aware XSLT processor, XSLT 1.0/2.0 debugger, and XSLT profiler, all of which support stylesheets that use Java, C#, JavaScript, and VBScript. XMLSpy even supports intelligent HTML5 and XHTML editing. An XPath 1.0/2.0 analyzer and XPath auto-completion assist in writing and testing XPath expressions, while schema-aware XQuery processor, XQuery debugger, and XQuery profiler facilitate efficient querying of XML data. XMLSpy is the only XML editor to support instant creation of charts based on XML data via XSLT or XQuery. The graphical XBRL taxonomy editor allows you to explore and extend taxonomy documents. Web services development is facilitated with a graphical WSDL designer for editing, validation, and conversion of WSDL 1.1/2.0 docs, as well as SOAP request/response handling, validation, and debugging. XMLSpy integrates with all major SQL databases: IBM DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Sybase, PostgreSQL and others. You can connect to and query a database, generate an XML Schema from a DB, import/export data based on DB schemas, generate DBs from XML Schemas, and edit relational or XML data. XMLSpy supports integration with Visual Studio and Eclipse, and COM and Java APIs plus OLE and ActiveX controls let you access XMLSpy capabilities programmatically.
What's new in this version: Windows 8 support, Windows Server 2012 support, Visual Studio 2012 support, IE 10 support.

"Haven't tried nor going to..............."
Version: Altova XMLSpy Enterprise Edition 2010 release 3
Pros
Heard it's a good software,so I'm checking this out.
Cons
PRICE.
Are you guys mad? $ 999.That's a very ridiculous amount to pay for a xml editor. Are you people competing with Microsoft?
I would Rather buy Adobe Photoshop Extended Paying the same amount of money.Summary
Lessen the Price to 10% what it is now. Then may be people will use it.

"Too many bugs with schema validation"
Version: Altova XMLSpy Enterprise Edition 2005r3
Pros
Look, it's better than anything else, but if Altova claims the leadership they could get these nasty bugs fixed ages ago.
This app is good for medium complexity schemas.
Cons
Keeps crashing on my PC when the previous version worked relatively stable. Can't put my fingers on the reason, but it looks like if you have a few some complex schemas open it just too much for the app to handle.
An old time validation problems with anyAttribute namespace=##other processContent=lax - it just doesn't bother to validate anything. This is really annoying.
If an attribute has a fixed value it may stop recognising it if the schema is imported.
They changed some validation error messages to less informative ones. Just don't understand why.
Not all elements are suggested in the prompts in grid view when building an instance XML document. The elements are clearly there and if typed in correctly it validates OK.
