Allok AVI MPEG WMV RM to MP3 Converter's sole job is to extract audio from several types of video files, and although its name mentions only MP3, the application also can capture audio in the WAV, OGG, and WMA formats. For each audio codec, you can set the bit rate, though you can't choose to encode files using the VBR compression system. In terms of interface, the program is both a snap to use and is well-designed; we especially like how can you select certain cut points with an intuitive slider.

As is so often the case with video utilities, this otherwise capable tool falters due to its trial limitation.

The bad news is that the demo will extract only half of any file or selected section, meaning you'll have to register to put the program to any actual use. Since less restrictive options can easily be found, we'd point most users to those programs before we'd suggest this demo.
