Alien Arena is a multiplayer online deathmatch game that features incredibly smooth and fast game play with next-generation engine features such as ragdoll physics, real-time per-pixel and per-vertex lighting and shadows, skeletal models, lensflares, light bloom, weather, and GLSL shader effects on all surfaces. The game includes over 50 levels, nine weapons (with alt-fire modes), six player characters, mutaters, six game play modes, and an in-game server browser and IRC client. With modes like Team Core Assault, Cattle Prod, Duel, Deathball, Capture the Flag, and All Out Assault, Alien Arena has an endless replayability factor.
What's new in this version: Version 7.53 includes improved performance, new content, new levels and graphical effects.

Pros
Fast paced with good online play. Has a great classic feel to it. Lot's of different modes to play. Such as Death Match, Capture the Flag, Team Core Assault, and Deathball just to name a few.
Cons
Not enough time in the day to play it

I'm always amazed at how this game keeps evolving. The graphics are getting better with every version. If you tried this game in the past it's worth another look as there have been many improvements over the years

This is my first FPS game and I have been addicted to it about 9 months now. I have recently started playing couple other FPSes too, but... something in them just doesn't make playing as entertaining as Alien Arena does.

Its a funny free FPS game, with a very good graphic, compared with other games.
There is a nice Community, which helped me a lot, if i had any questions about the game.
There are many game modes, and dozen of maps.
And it works also on Linux.
The balance of the weapons in DM games is just great. And there are funny mutators like rocketarena.Cons
the game is CTF oriented.
It is a bit tricky if you arent used fast fps games.Summary
I havent played such a good free game before. The graphic is realy good, the sound effects are great, the gameplay is fast and smooth and the community is nice and helps you.
I recommend this game everybody! -
