In addition to indifferent design, this system-shutdown utility teems with bugs. AgataSoft Shutdown's overly simple interface lets you choose an exact time or interval with to reboot, log off, or suspend activity. You'll have to access the program's options, however, if you want it to take action when a countdown reaches zero or the CPU reaches certain level of usage. In our tests, AgataSoft ShutDown didn't always work, or executed the wrong function using the scheduled methods, though it did accurately perform actions using the program's right-click menu. Also, while the program offers the ability to shut down network computers, this consistently caused it to crash. In addition, each time the program is opened, an error message appears stating the date is invalid. The included Defragmentation Wizard's interface is just as disappointing, and the poorly written help file provides little assistance. Given all these functionality issues, anyone looking for a simple utility for automating shutdown operations should look elsewhere.
