This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I know that Adobe no longer pushes this software on Versiontracker (or the competition's software site), and for good reason. The list of things one could say about this - in the negative - continue to move away from software performance issues, and into the realm of fascism. No matter what version you have, in order to even open this product Adobe forces you to submit to reloading their "latest" software version. Is this invasive, I am sure it is. Perhaps a programmer (who understands the FireWalls and other issues can tell us), but knowing Adobe's more recent pension for snooping, I'd say it is. Additionally, what's the point of all this digital "convenience" of digital, if you can't even print or copy text from a book (this feature is turned on by more paranoid/reedy publishers of popular books to keep people from digitizing them - the Kolbrin comes to ind here). Might as well buy a REAL book, and scan what you want. It's time to do for digital books, what is being done for music encryption - eliminate it and trust to a small loss in revenues for making this planet a nicer, friendlier planet. (What ever happened to that HitchHiker's Guide to the G_ entry, "Mostly Harmless?") I suppose the next worse thing is the hardware-only solution of that jungle-named company, but that's another story... Adobe, best of luck on everything . . . but this sort of software. Here's to ya!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />This is probably the single worst app I've been forced to use. It has less functionality than the previous edition of Adobe reader. It constantly fails to open documents properly, When you can open an ebook there is no full screen view. The navigation buttons are unreliable, jerky, and too tiny to see easily. I get consistent headaches from the program because the text moves so jerkily and I am constantly moving up and down i the same page. I cannot imagine what Adobe think they are doing inflicting trash like this on ebook readers. There is also one specific issue that drives me crazy. I'm left-handed. In Reader 7 I would set an ebook to full screen and use the space bar to page down. Now, the space bar often does not work and I have to reach across to the right side of the keyboard with my left hand to hit the pagedown button, or mouse to the right side of the screen to use possibly the smallest nav buttons ever inflicted on users. What was a seamless process is now frustrating and constantly interrupted. I'd revert to Reader 7 if I could, but the new security arrangements make that impossible. Do not use this product if you can avoid it, particulalry if you are left-handed.
