"Description is not for the FREE version"

    May 12, 2009  |   By Darkesyde

Version: Active Directory Change Reporter 1.0.03

    Pros

Installed eaisly with no issues and runs report upon request. I was testing this on my home network,

    Cons

Only provides the 2 "W's" in the free version that something was changed and what but NOT who or when.

    Summary

if you just need a report that something was changed then this is for you. If you really need to know who or when be ready to pay and the only option is to get a quote- you can't even get a "ballpark price" form the site.

    "Free AD audit software"

    February 22, 2009  |   By CraigL300

Version: Active Directory Change Reporter 1.0.03

    Pros

It's free. I get a daily report of changes to AD and Group Policy. Cheaper than other more expesive solutions, such as MOM. Great for a medium size company. Better than having to search through logs on every Domain controller.

    Cons

Free version does not tell you the time the change was made, or who made the change. I suppose I can always search my security logs to investigate.

    Summary

For a free audit of Active Directory, that you can schedule to run daily, and have sent to your mailbox. You cannot beat that. It beats searching through your log files on every Domain controller. We are a small shop, so buying the Full version is not really needed for us.
