It is NOT free. Until you cough up $50, anything you convert has a bid "UNREGISTERED VERSION" "www.avs4you.com" right in the middle of and as wide as your picture. If you try to register, you need to get the old credit card out.
Bottom line. NOT FREE. Why do they say it's free when it is not. They are not the only one to do this. They should be sued for false advertising.
I object being told something is free when it isn't. Vendors website is deliberately misleading and does not disclose buy information or that your images will have "unactivated license" written all over them. Shame on AVS!
Dishonest marketing of this software - tricks you into thinking it is free when it isn't. We have a right to know BEFORE we try as to what the pricing model will be. And who will pay their price tag when they feel tricked or, all they are looking for is, a once in a blue moon, tool? Wrong approach to what may well be a great piece of software for regular users of it.
The program is very easy to use. You simply dragndrop the pix you want to convert and then hit convert now. Almost all popular formats supported. Perhaps there some other converters out there, but I find this one very convenient.
Could use a bit more formats, but all in all its a great product at least worth to try.
The interface of the program is great. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out how it works. It has all of the formats I need... been using it on my netbook to convert photos on spot. (I am a photographer and sometimes need to resize and send photos over the internet via email.) Another great feature which I find quite useful is a watermark. You can put watermark on your photos so that nobody use them without your permission.
So far the program didn't let me down.
