4UOnly is a password manager for Microsoft Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000 and XP with a unique feature that saves you time while promoting good security: No longer are you required to enter your master decryption password each time you need to access your password list.

In these times of heightened concern for security, it is sound practice to use unique password for each of your various accounts. It is also important to frequently change your passwords in order to limit exposure should one be discovered. In order to track these numerous and ever changing account and passwords, password list management programs such as this one are commonly used.

The main drawback of this approach is that you must protect the password list itself from disclosure and this is almost always done by using yet another password to encrypt and decrypt the list. It then becomes very tedious to specify this password each time you wish to access your password list so there is often a tendency to choose weak password since they are easily entered.

4Uonly overcomes this problem by capitalizing on the knowledge that your identity was authenticated when you logged in to windows. It uses your own unique Windows security fingerprint to encrypt and decrypt your password crypt file. Your password list can only be viewed without providing a master password when you are logged in to the Windows account that was in use when the list was last saved. You are strongly encouraged to provide a master password when you first create the password file, so that you can still access the file should the necessary Windows account become unavailable.
