Although simple, this screensaver earns points for its nice feature set and lack of bundled adware. 3D Skellerinas Ballerinas lives up to its name by displaying animated skeletons in tutus and ribbons, twirling and leaping to a classical music soundtrack under a brooding sky.

We were quite impressed at the number of customization options this screensaver offers. For example, you can change the color of the skellerinas' outfits, determine how many skeletons appear onscreen, adjust the brightness, set the velocity, and choose whether bones or skulls also fly through the air. Playing your own MP3 entails creating a c:\music-sdss folder and putting a file renamed music.mp3 into it, but it's worth the effort to see lady skeletons dancing to "She's a Bad Mama Jama."

Best of all, this program doesn't bloat your PC with adware like many screensavers do. 3D Skellerinas Ballerinas might not be an appropriate year-round screensaver, but it sets the perfect mood for Halloween.

3D Skellerinas Ballerinas is very day of the dead. Skelleria ballerinas dance to the spooky classical music song, Night on Bald Mountain. You can also play your own MP3 music files. In the default mode animated bats fly overhead and skulls lay on stage in front of and at the skellerinas' feet. You can select various floating 3D-animated Halloween icons including bones, skulls, ghosts, and jack-o'-lanterns. Settings also include tint, brightness, and sound mute.
