"Brilliant interface and top rate customer service too."
Version: 3D Issue 5.2
Pros
I've been using 3D Issue now since Version 3 and the software works as described across the board it is easy to work with for designer and non-designer alike. The customer service levels are top notch and the publications are great my first choice for publishing for web every time!
Cons
If I had one it is that their RSS feed reader is a standalone application and is still in beta www.pressjack.com

"Great magazines easy to use looks good fast to learn."
Version: 3D Issue 5.2
Pros
I downloaded and then purchased for our computer user group so we can create e-newsletters that are a 'bit' better than our current e-mail format and this worked a treat we get more and more people now on our mailing list because of this because it can be shared. One link for each publication too so they be shared on any screen.
Cons
You have to have a server as they do not provide any hosting.
Summary
Really recommend and the Lite is a good deal with many of the Professional software features we bought Lite then moved to Professional afterwards.

"Cannot be customized as promised :("
Version: 3D Issue 5.2
Pros
There are far better solutions for far less money if you want a more customized Flash version of a flip book.
I guess if you do not mind sacrificing any and all customization than at least it will work on i-devices...Cons
The advertise customization and give you a trial version that works in Flash (despite the fact the program is for HTML5) and even their customer service rep by phone and email confirmed they would work the same... To our surprise and considerable investment of time and money we find out they do not work the same and that there are MORE limitations in the paid versions.
Summary
-No real level of customization available
I would like to update this review as there have been changes since posting:
-You pay to advertise them on your website
-Customer service works with canned answers
-trial version and paid version are FAR from the same
-Paid HTML5 has less customization than the trial Flash version
Be VERY careful about using this software and make sure you do not have grand ideas of customization.
Updated on Aug 27, 2012
1. It was finally explained correctly that we SHOULD be using the Flash version which if accessed by a mobile device gets directed to the HTML5.
2. That we CAN use invisible logos
These two explanations have solved 80% of the problems mentioned above.
These are not obvious features and were not explained adequately when purchasing, in phone calls or in emails. I guess at least it was explained and problems solved.
Additionally, I can add they did also offer a complete refund if I was ultimately not satisfied.
Still not a 5 star product, but maybe a 3.5 ;) -

"Gets the job done. Good affordable software"
Version: 3D Issue 3.1
Pros
Has plenty of features, add-ons etc. Simple to use. Best solution I could find to let me turn my newsletter into an electronic one, and I do it all myself.
Cons
They have a loat of extras that I don't need or want, I just want to add url links and email links. but the extras come along in the professional model i purchased.
Summary
all round great investment. Has already paid for itself (I used to outsource the process). get to cut back on this cost altogether now that I can do it in-house. Lads were a great help in the 3dissue office in helping me get it set up. from purchase the newsletter was online the same day with full bells and whistles working.

"Saving a packet by doing it myself. Fantastic service!"
Version: 3D Issue 3.1
Pros
Bought 3 months ago, 2 days after I found 3D Issue online. Spoke with the sales team wh really helped me in the start up as..not that it was too hard. Software is so easy to use even for a non technical person like myself.
Cons
i suppose a criticism if any is that there is no upgrade protection...i think i am only upset at this as I know the product is heading in the right direction.
Summary
really worth the investment. definitely get out and buy it especially if you are like me and were out-sourcing. I am saving an absolute fortune...i won't go into figures because I'm embarassed to admit what I was spending per issue...but as i only pay 3d issue once for the software, I made the investment back after my second publication...scary!!!

"Great investment for digital side"
Version: 3D Issue 3.1
Pros
needed to reduce costs due to the times. given the task of looking for a solution to put my company's 4 publications online. After 2 full months research we went with these guys because we can do the digital process in-house. very simple software.
Cons
??? seemed pricet at the start and nearly put me off, that wasa until i found it was a once-off purchase price and everyone else I was researching were service providers...there were was only one horse in the race after that.
Summary
i'm in marketing so not a techie at all, software is so easy to use i handle the whole digital process myself. CEO loved the fact it was a onetime purchase as well. would have no hassle recommending the software. the guys were great in getting us set up and getting our template branded for us, the support team haven't been needed so far..
-
"intuitive and extremely user friendly"
Version: 3D Issue 3.1
Pros
I have been using it now for 3 months and man, what a nice system. The Interface is intuitive and extremely user friendly and provides plenty options for a general type page flip publication.
Cons
It would have been nice to import my own background images into the application. Food for thought. However, my customers are very happy with their e-magazine and from what I hear, so are the readers.
Summary
As a developer, I would highly recommend the 3D Issue software to anyone who needs to do this type of publishing. Straight forward, no frills and solid. Well done guys, and hoping to see more of the same in the future.

"Just what I was looking for. easy to use and cheap"
Version: 3D Issue 3.1
Pros
the fact i can do my e-mags in-house led me to search through Google. I found these guys and they helped me every step of the way. process was easy and i received the software the same day.
Cons
wanted to remove their logo from the bottom banner also but apparently it has to remain for their copyright terms!!???
Summary
haven't had trouble since day 1 (touch wood). the support team assisted in getting the product fully functional and I have been able to handle it from their...and oh yeah; i'm definitely not a 'techi'. Software is ridiculously easy to use.
The best part though is I can create and host them myself -
"pricey but easy to use and efficient"
Version: 3D Issue 3.1
Pros
Very easy to use. No programming involved. easy to follow video tutorials and we found it very easy to add links etc.. Love the ability to record what the user does and have the results posted to our google analytics account for free.
Cons
There are flash alternatives that are cheaper but i dont know flash and we decided to use the software. It was expensive. I had a little difficulty setting up the ability to send emails from within the emag, but got sorted with help from 3D support.
Summary
Good. There are cheaper solutions out there if you know flash but we are a print publishing company and do not have anyone that can program in flash. So we needed a solution that allowed us to have digital editions without having to program anything.
The software is very easy to use and they have a full video tutorial section that covers every feature, We had a bit of trouble getting the send to friend feature to as work as we needed to configure the scripts to suit our mail server. but the guys at 3D issue did a screen sharing webinar with us and we were able to fix the scripts on the spot.
The software was an investment. A little more that what we normally spend but the stat reporting to google analytics was the decider. Overall we are very happy. it would have been great if it was cheaper but for the time it saves us if we were to manually create these magazines using flash it is worth it.
