It can split or convert from AVI ,MPEG1, 2 or WMV/ASF file to smaller clips in AVI ,MPEG1, 2 or WMV/ASF or Real Media formats. 1st Video Splitter provides different splitting method to make splitting easy. You can change the framerate, size, bitrate etc as you like. As a useful feature, 1st Video Splitter will auto create index to none-index WMV/ASF file.

"Trial version converts only 50% of the file."

Pros: Easy user interface (for some parts). Able to convert most of the common media files types (avi, rm, mpeg, mpeg2).

Cons: Trial version converts only 50% of the file.

"Will not open"

Pros: None; cannot evaluate

Cons: Applicatiion produces a runtime error after opening

Summary: Wish I could have got a chance to try the software
