Swallow Prompt has been designed to help people who have difficulty in managing their saliva (drooling), such as those with neurological conditions such as Stroke, Parkinson's Disease and Multiple Sclerosis who have reduced sensation. Swallow Prompt can be set to either vibrate (not supported on iPad) or beep (a wired or bluetooth headset is recommended) at a set interval. This prompts people to swallow prior to saliva spilling from their lips. A journal article published in the International Journal of Language and Communication Disorders in 2001 found that when people with Parkinson's Disease used a swallow reminder their saliva management improved. Swallow Prompt can be used during normal device usage (but not phone calls) and also when your device is in standby mode and the screen is off in order to preserve battery charge. She has a wealth of experience of working as a Speech and Language Therapist in a variety of settings and her area of clinical expertise is adult neurology and voice. Samantha is a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT), HPC Registered (SL10250) and Lee Silverman Voice Treatment Certified (LSVT).
