The Holy Quran is the holy book of the Muslims. The Qur'an was given to Prophet Muhammad sallallahu ^ alayhi wa sallam Llhu revealed by the angel Jibril (Gabriel). This revelation has lasted 23 years.

The Koran has 114 chapters, called suras as the first Surah Al Fatiha is called. Each sura consists of phrases called "ayat". The longest is the sura "Al Baqara", it has 286 ayas
