Create source code for MCNP n-particle transport monte-carlo simulation software.

PhotonSDef Software automates the generation of the photon energy and probability codes in (https://mcnp.lanl.gov) MCNP format (Los Alamos n-particle transport code) from a list of isotopes and their associated activity levels in Becquerel's or alternatively their masses in grams. The main aim of the software is to help simplify what can be a laborious process of inputting all the photon energies and their associated occurence probabilities into the MCNP for a source term that includes a significant number of radioactive elements. The output is a txt file that includes the code necessary for the MCNP input files to simulated the required active elements. The software is intially limited to calculations on Cobalt isotopes while used as a free trial download. Select the "Register PhotonSDef" in the Help menu to obtain a license file. The user can easily select each element in a mixture from a pull down list of element names, or type in the element number in column Z. The return key commits the data input when entering a Z number. A list of available isotopes for that element is then selected from a second pull down list. Any isomers present in the data appear at the bottom of the isotope list. The material quantity is input in either Becquerel's or Grams, dependent on the setting of the selection buttons in the actions panel on the right. The column titled "Gamma Data" displays the photon energies found for the selected isotope. This column is READ ONLY. The last two columns "Half Life" and "MCNP Weight" are also read only.
