myTracks is a geotagging and geocaching application with a convenient GPS track library. GPS tracks can be downloaded from most of the common GPS loggers, such as: Wintec WBT-201, Holux M-241 and GPSport 245, Columbus V-900, Gisteq Phototrackr and Phototrackr Lite, iBlue 747 and Sony GPS CS-1 and CS-3. The new GPS-Logger-Assistant helps configuring your device. The GPS tracks are drawn on different maps which are also available while being unconnected from the internet. The most incredible feature is the synchronization with iPhoto '09. Just select your photos or events in iPhoto, drop them to myTracks's dock icon and they will be geotagged automatically. They are available in iPhoto's Places immediately. There is nothing more to do.
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. I go hiking with a BT-31 that records my GPS track to an SD card. When I get home I use an apple script I found to convert the track to a GPX file. Now all I do is drag my pictures from iPhoto to the myTracks icon in the dock and bam! all pictures are geocoded in iPhoto. I also love to use it to play back my hikes since you can use the down arrow to go from point to point in your track. It also makes it easy to edit your track or split it to remove the drive home if you forget to turn the GPS logger off. All in all this is one killer app.
