• Batch mode works fine and this does a good job

  Pros

  I've been using AJC for years and though I admit it's got a kind of klunky GUI, it works great once you get the hang of it. Are there easier jpg compressors to use? No doubt there are. But this one does a lot, and once you figure it out it does it quickly and efficiently. With Batch mode you can create your own templates of how much you want to compress and what size you want to resize the jpg to (actual size, I mean, here, not file size) and then push a button and you have the whole batch done to your specs.

  Cons

  GUI is a little hard to understand in some cases.

  Summary

  I like Advance JPEG Compressor Batching works fine. The GUI could be better but it's not terrible. Try it and if you can figure out the GUI then buy it.

  It seems to compress pretty well

  Cons

  Batch mode won't work on nested folder groups. You have to select all the pictures in each individual folder.

  Summary

  Since batch mode was what I wanted it for, the software wasn't much use to me.

  I take my photos at high resolution, to insure that I can use any shot as a high-quality print. AJC intuitively allows me to adapt any shot, based upon the venue requirements - quickly and cleanly.

  Excellent revisions of images with no apparent degradation

  User interface on older version is cumbersome but can be learned

  I purchased the product several years ago and misplaced the code to enable the full version. Despite several calls to the somewhat dubious office in VA asking for clarification and assistance I have received no response. Apparently this is the method people from that part of the world are accustomed to in so far as customer relations.

  Pros

  Advanced JPEG compressor allows tweaking into detailed aspect of photo compression. Not for beginner.

  Cons

  Too difficult. Not for home users. Too expensive for just image compression only 2009? The developer should look Image Compressor 2008. It's more expensive but also has tons of other features this software don't have.

  Summary

  Try it. But you have to buy before seeing the actual result :(
