Electronic Point of Care Charting in the patients room greatly increases efficiency as the data is handled only once and documented real time and then shared with the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) where information is shared on a hospital wide basis.Accuracy of patient data is improved as clinicians do not have to take notes for later entry into the patients chart and thus documentation errors are reduced.Charting can be standardized as the structure and content of each charting event can be customized to department guidelines.
