Directr for iOS

One of the newest video creation, editing, and sharing apps is Directr, an app that takes the entire concept of mobile moviemaking to a different level--one that cinephiles will absolutely love.

The core interface of Directr is very similar to other photo and video sharing apps. You can connect with Facebook or create a new account, and the home screen shows all of your friends' movies, the community's movies and your sharing options. The big draw here, though, is the movie creation function. Tap the center button and you're given dozens of prebuilt storyboards that you can use to create a movie. For each storyboard, you'll be asked to create a certain number of clips, often with directions on what to include. Examples include "My Favorite Places," "Easter Dinner," and "Kids at the Beach." The app then automatically cuts and clips together the resulting movies, creating a finished product that looks impressive from start to finish.

If you're tired of the same boring themes and filler in your home movies, Directr is a huge step forward in the iPhone moviemaking app field. With so many options--all of them free--built-in sharing features, and dozens of methods by which you can create and interact with content, either by following professional storyboards or by creating your own, Directr is a clear winner of an app.
