Tecgraf - Computer Graphics Technology Group - was created in May 1987 in a partnership with PETROBRAS' Research and Development Center - CENPES - at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro - PUC-Rio. Its purpose is to develop, establish, and maintain computer graphics and user interface software for technical and scientific applications. Tecgraf is one of the laboratories from PUC-Rio's Computer Science Department.
