Boxcryptor consists of a highly motivated and innovative team that is passionate about finding the best solutions for data security in the cloud. Our journey started in 2011 when we faced the problem of missing data security in the cloud for our own use. Due to missing satisfying solutions we developed our first version of Boxcryptor - which at that time was meant as an internal solution for our daily use. As we realized we were not the only ones needing such a solution for the cloud, we shared Boxcryptor with others to gain their feedback and in less than a week Boxcryptor was downloaded more than a thousand times while receiving very positive feedback. Since May 2011 Boxcryptor is available on the market and currently we have hundreds of thousands happy users worldwide. Our goal is to take our highly regarded cloud storage security solution to other cloud use cases - always keeping the needs of our customers in mind.
