Founded in 2002 by Jam Master Jay (Run DMC) and Rob Principe (CEO), Scratch DJ Academy has taught over 100,000 people how to DJ and produce music through its academies in New York City, Miami, L.A. and through its national tours and events. The reason we decided to build MIX! was simple. Our students were complaining that DJ and music production software was expensive and difficult to use. We wanted to build an application that was educational, intuitive, feature-rich, and affordable for beginner and serious DJs alike. We hired a team of amazing developers and partnered with Stanton - one of the leading DJ equipment companies in the world. And then, MIX! was born.
