Observect is the brainchild of Jeff Capaldo, who has spent his career working at the intersection of operations and analytics. The name is both a contraction of "the observer effect" and a reference to the observation of vectors. In the first sense, the name illustrates our commitment to using the most accurate models and quantitative tools to eliminate any bias of our observation on your data. We work to ensure that the data we extract represents an exact copy of the underlying activity. The second translation of our name refers to vectors - an object that has both size and direction. Just as in the programming language Ruby, wherein everything is an object, we see every aspect of your business as a vector. One of millions of items in a given dataset has magnitude and direction, as does your entire business. We understand and explain your data to manage and optimize the magnitude and direction of the "vectors" that mean the most to your bottom line.
