NoAD was founded in 2003 with its headquarters located in South Korea. Internet was already a fast growing business in Korea backed up by widespread high speed internet infrastructure making it the world's most wired country and the world's testbed for new internet technology. Where there is light, there is also shadow. Computer users were faced with ever-increasing number of online marketing schemes including something called 'spyware'. Inducing endless pop-ups, system slow down, and many other abnormalities, spyware and malware were the next public enemies online. With quick financial gains, spyware evolved to become more complex, more damaging, and most of all, more frustrating for the users. A growing number of unethical internet companies were involved with building and distributing spyware and malware. Even many of the so-called anti-spyware software were at the forefront of spyware and malware.
