From its beginning ten years ago, the non-profit research center MeVis Research in Bremen, Germany, has chosen a disease-oriented approach for solving significant diagnostic and therapeutical problems. MeVis has especially focused on epidemiologically relevant problems such as cardiovascular diseases, cancer, brain diseases and lung diseases. Based on the highly efficient software platform MeVisLab, MeVis Research develops workflow-oriented software assistants that allow efficient visualization and quantification of image data, highly reproducible quantification of anatomically and pathologically important structures with minimal user interaction, and reliable risk assessment of complex surgery and interventions. The software assistants are developed by MeVis Research in close cooperation with more than 50 clinical partners in Europe, Asia, America and Australia.
