General goals of the Institute of Agricultural Biology and Biotechnology (IBBA) of The National Coucil of Research of Italy (CNR)
The institute main goal is the development of fundamental knowledge, which is a pre-requisite for the understanding and valorization of biodiversity as well as for all genetic, technological and biotechnological applications in the agricultural field.
The mission of the institute is to improve the knowledge of the molecular basis underlying processes, at every level (cell, tissue) in the agronomic interesting organisms. This knowledge aimed to an improvement of both diversification and quality in crop production.
The Institute belongs to the Dipartimento di Scienze Bio-Agroalimentari.
