Founded in 1964, HOB GmbH & Co. KG successfully launched its activities in the development of software and terminals for IBM mainframes in 1981.
In 1983, HOB designed a simultaneous, multi-session terminal for 3270 access, catapulting the company to the head of the field.
A turning point in the HOB story occurred in 1990, when HOB began developing products designed to enable and optimize communication between hosts and PCs.
Sensing the importance of Java very early, in 1996 HOB became one of the first innovators of Java-based connectivity technology.
In 2000, HOB continued its aggressive globalization strategy, founding a subsidiary in the United States and expanding its Qualified Reseller Program to include resellers in southern and eastern Europe as well as in the Middle East and Asia.
Currently, approximately 130 persons are employed at HOB headquarters in Cadolzburg, Germany, and 5 branch offices located throughout Germany. Additionally, HOB has subsidiaries located in the USA, France, Austria, the Netherlands and Malta.
