  I have been using THRSim11 for quite a few years now in my university-level microcontroller programming and interfacing classes. It has a wide range of features including a large number of virtual devices that can be operated on-screen as the simulation runs. It can also interact with a 68HC11 target board (e.g. EVB). I use it in my classes both to demo features of the 68HC11 during lecture and as an environment for student testing of assigned programs. Students learn the value of simulation (in a virtual hardware environment) as a tool which complements the use of a hardware test kit like the EVB or EVM. I recommend this product highly, either for classroom use or for self-study.

  This simulator is well hand-crafted. It saves a lot of time in hardware by providing realistic modeling. Once simulating is ideal, hardware is on is way! Also, the author is very insightful.

  I am a student in a microcontroller course. I am running: 1) Windows XP, 2)a Mekatronix MB 2325 Bidirectional Serial Communications Voltage Converter, 3)Mekatronix MSCC11 Microcontroller Board, and 4) a MC68HC11E20 chip with Buffalo Monitor 3.4 installed. I have found this software easy to use and nicely integrated and would recommend it to anyone. Further, the author has been available and prompt in answering my questions about the software.
