Solar System 3D Simulator is a software application that generates a realistic solar system model and planets in 3 Dimension on the PC using advanced physics formulas. It can display the planets and their orbits, the sun and the moon. The nine planets including planet earth and their detailed physical and chemical information and image pictures is also displayed including solar power, solar energy and solar eclipse details. The graphical output is in high-resolution 3D full color format and the orbit view can be adjusted and the orbits tilted and rotated to any angle. The speed of the solar system can also be varied. The Solar System model is useful for learning about the physics of the universe, astronomy, science projects and science experiments interactively for both adults and kids. Students of Elementary, Middle and High School can use it for science fair projects ideas, physics help, science news and creating science articles.
Limited view (I'd say "views" but there's only one).

Basic and disappointing
wizzerman
Pros
It gives a crude display of the mechanics of the solar system, however there are far better products out there.
Cons
Graphics are awful. Interface is clunky
Summary
Recommend Earthsim 2 if you want beautiful images of the planets in the solar system or Celestia if you want a rich database of the heavenly bodies
good experience

Pros
from this we can clearly make out the solar system and how it rotates
Cons

Summary
useful to understand the rotation of planets
Great teaching aid, graphics are lacking but it is FREE
sixnhand
Pros
Simple and easy to understand our solar system
Cons
Graphics could be better, still a very good program.
Summary
Good teaching aid, makes it easier to understand our solar system.
View of the Entire Solar System Animated

Pros
This would be a good program for a child to see how the Solar System works.
Cons
Very little user control of the interface. Saturn does not look like it should because it looks like a rock with craters and the rings don't look right either.
Summary
This is only a good program for a small child to see how the Solar System works. If you want something with Great Graphics and more for other children and adults then download Celestia.
Good program. Interesting. Entertaining. Educational

Easy to use.
Good graphics.
Easy to get hooked on it.
Cons
Nothing substantial stands out.
Summary
nice, but very simplistic.

Cons
not that much there.

Good For kids, Not good for anyone else

Pros
Its an educational simulation of the solar system. Children grades K-3 will find this very informative.
Cons
No control of the simulation. Can not manipulate the parameters by any means.
Summary
All in all this is an educational simulation of the solar system. This is good for K-3 grade children. As for anyone else this is poor simulation because there is no control other than changing the view point and getting information on any of the eight planets and Pluto. I only recommend this product to those with young children so they may learn about the solar system.
Wow. What a mess!

Pros
If you haven't a clue, this program's for you! It will lead you well into the history of scientific thinking.
Cons
Hello! There's aren't 9 planets in our solar system once Pluto was downgraded to non-planet status. And that didn't even happen this year. How old IS this dog of a program? Pre-Asteroids game? Pre-Pong??? Graphics are laughable at best.
Summary
This was well worth the price: nothing. Thank goodness I didn't waste time downloading it; I was doing something else simultaneously. This is inaccurate, graphically bald, and basically embarrassing. c/net needs to maintain a higher quality of active downloads or people are going to stop using it as a source. Previous reviews are from years ago when something this shoddy might have passed as valuable. But those in c/net who know this download is still here are obviously not looking at it. Does c/net update its download stock or are items simply included and left here to grow outdated?
I'm sorry but another horrific download like this one and I'll use the site solely to point me towards the possibility of finding something interesting elsewhere.
