Great installer - other review clearly biased

- Very easy to use - Makes good assumptions about what 95% of people want for their installer. Integrated internet updater solution. You can create a decent installer in minutes, not hours or days like some products!

- Lack of scripting control, but this may be a pro for some as it means it is less complex. The occasional person who needs to do more complex things with their installer has to write their own EXE and then run it from the installer - it can be done.
- Summary
- Mainly I'm writing this review because the reviewer pushing "InstallJammer" clearly was just trying to push that product. I tested InstallJammer and while it was interesting and does some good things, it's GUI was quite a bit more complicated - it was harder to accomplish basic tasks with it - things that SSE Setup does automatically. SSE Setup takes a couple of minutes to get the hang of - but it practically holds your hand through the process of creating an install. Each screen has pertinent help and for more detailed help, you can press F1 on any screen and detailed context-sensitive help for the page you are on will appear. SSE Setup doesn't do everything a person could possibly want to do - but it doesn't claim to. Unlike some other products, it doesn't claim to be the "best" because the truth is what's best to install your program might not be best for someone else. But it does claim to be easy and able to quickly turn out decent installers with features that most people need/want. And on that benchmark, it clearly measures up. I definitely recommend SSE Setup!
An OK free installer, but inferior to InstallJammer

- Nice and simple GUI, easy to use, works as advertised, seems to be adware-free and spyware-free.

- Very basic, forces you into rigid assumptions about what you want (which is OK for most users).

- In fact, there is nothing wrong with SSE Setup. However, having used InstallJammer for a few months, I was very disappointed. InstallJammer is simply in a different league.

- My old compile quit working so this was a last ditch effort to get things compiled. I love it when the first one I try turns into success!
Easy to use, high value for novice developers

- After reading the documentation, the program was very easy to use. It allows me to send custom programs with simple installation processes.
- Cons
- Defaults installation to "Program Files" and requires users to select another directory if desired. I would prefer to set my own default.
