Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware monitors all activity in the computer and identifies actions which are typical of ransomware activity. It keeps track of all activity and, once it has enough evidence to determine a certain process or thread to be ransomware, blocks the infection and quarantines the ransomware before it has a chance to encrypt users' files. During development Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware has blocked every single ransomware variant we have thrown at it.

Version: Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware 0.9.17.661 beta
Doesn't use a lot of resources...less than cyber-reason ransomefree
If it doesn't start protection on boot, you can click the tray icon and turn protection on..unlike Ransomefree where the PC must be rebooted
Malwarebytes has good reputation, so it probably provides pretty good protection from ransomeware attacks
Mine is slightly newer version 9.18797+ so some updating has occurred
I don't know if this is updated
Ransomeware is a big problem so I use 3 programs: This one, Ransomefree and CryptoPrevent. They play well together..no conflict with each other or avast, my realtime antivirus.
