If you only judged Laser Tank by its primitive graphics, you might not guess it offers a large number of daunting challenges. To win each level, you must figure out how to use the objects on the board to get around obstacles and eventually capture the flag. For example, to safely cross a river, you might have to first destroy the enemy tanks by ricocheting your shots off of mirrors, then make a bridge by moving blocks. Even when we set the game to its easiest difficulty mode, it took us several tries to pass some of the levels we tried, and in those cases, we usually had to get a hint from the computer. And since the game includes more than 2,000 puzzles and a level editor, Laser Tank is likely to keep you plenty busy. However, if high-end graphics and sound effects are a priority, you should keep searching, as the game looks quite outdated. Changing the overall graphical theme helps a little but certainly doesn't do wonders for Laser Tank's appearance. Nevertheless, since the game is free, we think it makes a good long-term pick for those who want a little brainteaser every once in a while.

a very challenging and very entertaining strategy game

Install the game on your flash drive, take it with you, and play on any pc. Tons of level. Unlimited back track (Undo)
Cons
too much keyboard work. Need to use both hands. Wish I can use mouse for all the control keys. Some level designers gave great challange, some were simply "repeat" moves. nothing but moving the block around the tight space.

great game for all ages. I wish I have this game on my phone... This game will teach you to think ahead, geometry for your kids, and also things are not what it seems. So there are time you'll learn to think outside the box. move the mirrow around to re-direct the laser or use the enermy tank to shield other enermy tank. GREAT game.

Simple, basic, no frills, addictive, tricksy, maddeningly mongoose! I'm really not into the new high-graphics games. I'm into simple addiction through basic fun. This one is a brain-teaser and I love that sort of thing. It's well made, and even on the Kids level, I can't figure out how to get to the flag yet. But I will, that's the fun of it, I really want to. It feels like HACK. Oh, man.. I need to get the latest Hack and play that again.

There is NO help for newbies to the game. It's all about creating new levels. Players are left high and dry for figuring out strategy for existing levels, or even what they're supposed to do. Clicking "Hint" at different points in the level should bring up different hints. There is no indication for how to aim your shot. For example if you are supposed to move a mirror by hitting its base with your laser, how are you supposed to aim? Help does not say. Yet the hint tells you to move a mirror. Hmmm...

Laser Tank is by far the best download ever. And, it's free! My 9 year old son makes new levels for me to play. Fun for all ages. My whole family is addicted! This game easily fits on a floppy disk, has over 1000 levels, and over 12,000 available. This puzzle-shooter has so much variety it never gets old! This game is a MUST DOWNLOAD!!!

The good of lasertank, its that, its like an online game, because you can send your lvls or solutions to the administrator(donald) and then he put it in the lvl file. Thats why lasertank its so addictive. For lvl creator, becausen they have to reach the deadly lvl to be the best. And for lvl solvers, to feel the confort you feel when you solve a hard lvl.
