ESP Ghostscript (ESPGS) is an open-source PostScript interpreter derived from GNU Ghostscript. This package is required; it provides full support for printing from Carbon applications in Mac OS X (there is no need to install this package more than once).

The configure script did not substitute the OBJEXT

The CUPS driver incorrectly reallocated page memory,
which could cause Ghostscript to crash (STR #246)

ESP Ghostscript now substitutes the space character
for missing glyphs in fonts. This is controlled using
the espgsMissingChar definition in gs_init.ps (STR #275)
The ps2epsi script did not quote ~'s in the sed
command (STR #261)
This Mac OS X build of ESP Ghostscript now uses a
version of the PNG reference library, libpng, that
includes the jumbo security patch, which addresses all
of the security issues identified on 04 August 2004.
