Clumsy Ninja for iOS

Clumsy Ninja charges you with training a hapless ninja and helping to guide him on his quest to rescue his kidnapped friend. With a fully interactive interface, this game gives you full control of your ninja's body and actions, so you can train him just the way you want to, and have plenty of fun along the way.

Pros

Cool controls: To control your ninja, you just have to move the part of his body that you want wherever you want it to go. You can even pick him up, dangle him upside down, tie balloons to his arms and feet, and more. While you can have lots of fun guiding your ninja through his regular training exercises, there's plenty of fun to be had outside of structured training as well.

Slow reveal: This game features a cute and endearing storyline that's slowly revealed over time. While the story gives context to your ninja's training, it also gives you incentive to keep playing, so you can find out more about what's really going on.

Cons

Complicated access: Training instructions for your ninja are brought up by tapping a little book icon in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. Doing so brings up a dialog bubble that you have to tap again to get a list of instructions. You then have to exit the instructions and go to the store to purchase any equipment that you need for the next phase of training, and so on. The whole process is pretty disjointed and seems to involve way more steps and taps than should really be necessary.

Bottom Line

Clumsy Ninja is a fun and engaging game with a flexible interface that lets you play the way you want to. The app is free, but there are multiple items you can purchase as you play including toys, gems, and coins. If you're looking for a new distraction to help pass the time, this is a good option.
