First a yule log on TV, now Christmas Tree on the desktop. This festive wallpaper program is chock-full of holiday cheer, yet its trial limitations make it appear more Scrooge than Santa. Christmas Tree Interactive Desktop adds a holiday scene to your desktop, complete with a tree, toys, and wrapped presents. A small panel at the top of the screen lets you choose ornaments to decorate the tree to your liking. The demo version, however, doesn't exactly let your imagination run wild. You can only choose the plain ornaments and the simple, clear lights to hang on the tree, while the rest of the fancy bows and sparkly balls are only available once you upgrade. That said, you could hang a wreath on Mona Lisa's face or place a rat with a Santa hat on the top of the tree--if it suits your celebration. A control panel at the top of the screen lets you dim the lights or change the music. Overall, this holiday desktop wallpaper may please Mom or closet tree decorators, and it's definitely cheaper than buying your own six-foot fir.
