It does what it's supposed to do (resolve hostnames in the "hosts" file to IPs), and it does it fast.
Cons
There are actually no cons that I could think of.
Summary
As mentioned above, CIP is simply an awesome "hosts" file manager which does its job (resolve hostnames to IPs) very efficiently. It's also very small in size. Simply put, the CIP program is flawless!

I think this is a good App. It helped me since I am on a Dialup. I run 98SE and my browser IE6SP1. It was easy to use until the "hosts" file that is located in C/Windows is in conflict with my browser. Could not open some sites and my ISP links.

the global dos interface is disabled so no secondary url,s which mean,s your sufing url,s will not be collected to host files ,fast net 99 is better but uses alot of resorses.

don't know why other reviews are bad. its working perfectly! maybe now its been updated. this is good, really good. i give it an all thumbs up, including my toes! amazing speed, but this goes for the url's that you have included in the cip list though. but that's all i need.

The real strength of a DNS cacher is monitoring your internet activity and automatically making the changes to your hosts file. With this useless program, it's all manual. And it'll only cache your favorites. The cherry topping this poop sundae? There isn't even an uninstall program included. Don't waste your time.

Manage your hosts file to accelerate your browser's speed.

CIP manages your hosts file. A hosts file is used by your browser to resolve IPs for the URLs you attempt to access. CIP puts the competition to shame - it's by far the fastest, most interactive, and most feature-rich product of its kind on the market today.

Normally a browser will have to go through DNS to find the IP number for a web resource, and this takes time. By putting your URLs and IPs in your hosts file, you speed up your browser, make better use of your online time, and get where you're going a lot faster. CIP is alone in being able to collect secondary URLs right off your web pages. Secondary or embedded URLs amount to many times the DNS time spent on simply accessing the web pages themselves.
