Version: xpFolders 9.03
Pros: From the information, images and the reviews these seem to be some very attractive free icons.
Cons: I couldn't open the file that the installer creates. I have Windows XP with the latest service pack and updates. I did the download, unzipped the file and I ran the install program, which is supposed to create a folder and populate it with the icons. It created a folder called "My Icons" in "My Documents", but it contains an unknown file type (.fr) that Windows XP couldn't open or even recognize.
I downloaded it again, this time opting for the "Visit our web site and get more icons" option. It took me there - downloaded the same installation program and installed the same file, but I still couldn't use it.
Finally I went to the Internet to search for something that would open this particular file type and found nothing.
I'm baffled. These are supposed to be icon images. Shouldn't they be ".ico" files? And much to my shame, everybody who wrote a review was able to install and use these icon. Any thoughts?

"Makes Folders Look Much Better"
Pros: I liked the design of the folder icons. They are visually attractive and descriptive. Each folder icon has a unique image on it that you can use to visually describe the contents of the folder.
Cons: Kind of a challenge to see the pictures on the folder icons when choosing a new icon for a folder.

"Wonderful set of icons to aid all computer users."
Pros: These icons easily allow folders to be distinguished from one another. They are of a high quality, and blend very well with the current Windows XP icons.
Incredibly helpful install file took care of everything for me with a single click.

Pros: A great, beautifully designed set of icons. For those who can't install theirs (namely Eannes), see the guide on Wikipedia.
Cons: Some of the small folder icons have little or no detail.

Pros: Seen as so many of these packages come with spyware, its good that there are programs like this one not containing any.
Cons: Havn't seen any yet.
