"Nonprofessional Web Design Application"
Version: skEdit 4.1.2
Pros
Although I disliked most parts of this, there were some good things. It was a good looking interface.
Cons
I did not like the importing software, there was not live preview, FTP was hard, cleanup deleted everything, hard to save, no javascript/CSS tools
Summary
Bottom line, this is a amateur program for pure HTML documents. And it is even bad for that.

"Best WebDev Text Editor"
Version: skEdit 4.0
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I am using skEdit on an almost daily basis and have to say that for web development it is the best editor I have found. Even there are always things to improve (e.g. project management, file diff, ...) I am able to do everything I need to. -

I FEEL SO STUPID!!! Ignore the last post, I need to use my eyes! There it was, right in front of me!
I LOVE this application. That's why I had to turn this into a review and post 5 stars. -
"Very cool."

This is one great web code editor. By focusing only on what web developers need and use, skEdit is lean, fast and efficient. It allows you to manage sites without strewing additional files all over the place. Syntax coloring, tabs, code completion, previewing - its all there. Highly recommended. -
"Replacement for Dreamweaver"
Version: skEdit 3.6.1
Summary

After a long search for a flexible texteditor I found this little app. It comes with a userfriendly, Mac-designed interface and has the same great features like expensive professional editors. skEdit is the right tool for webdevelopers on OS X. I just moved Dreamweaver to trash... -
"fantastic program!"
Version: skEdit 3.6.1
Summary

after getting tired of editing websites with a plain text editor, i started shopping around and looking at some of the various programs used for development (bbedit, textmate, subethaedit, etc). i was also considering just getting dreamweaver because it is what most people seem to use, but it's so pricey. i eventually came across a review of skedit on the hicksdesign site and downloaded the demo. a very clean interface, very stable. it's lean and powerful at the same time and absolutely worth the price, i'd even pay double. if you don't believe me, check out the demo. i've been using it full time for over a year and it has become an integral part of my development process. -
"Excellent!"

Summary

When I migrated (back) to Mac about 18 months ago, I looked long and hard for a text editor that would do for me what HTML-Kit had done for me in the Windows environment. I finally came on skEdit, which seemed to offer all I wanted (including, for instance, easily-managed snippets for boilerplate text). Since then it has been in constant use in designing and maintaining websites, and I have never had cause to regret my decision. I particularly like the idea of a once-off lifetime payment, which entitles me to free upgrades forever! -
"Great App"
Version: skEdit 3.6
Summary

After all the different text editors I have tested and used skEdit is the one that gets the job done. I've been a web master for a large ISP for a few years now and skEdit has been the most valuable addition to my tools yet.
The developer is great... once you purchase you can join the beta testing team to see up and coming feature and provided feedback and ideas. -
"simply amazing"
Version: skEdit 3.5
Summary

This is the best text editor I have used. I keep finding useful features, and the developer is great. The versiontracker subcategory of 'web site development app' really does not do this app justice. Well worth the shareware price. -
"The best html/css-editor i have ever used."
Version: skEdit 3.5
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This in an amazing app. While still not perfect (who will ever be perfect?) itâ??s still the most useful editor when coming to html/css. The autocompletion supports mixed languages, so it autocompletes both html and css in the same document. it also supports a great clean-up tool that makes my html fully xhtml-compliant (and validating).
Check this out!
