beKEY virtual (on-screen) Keyboard

CNET Editors' review

by: CNET Staff on February 27, 2009

Although designed for those who cannot use a conventional keyboard, this screen-based keyboard replacement works well for any user.

BeKey Virtual (onscreen) Keyboard displays a mouse-driven, complete keyboard for use in a variety of programs. It has two straightforward and customizable interface profiles.

One displays all keyboard buttons in a slightly altered manner, while the second resembles an actual keyboard without the function keys. You can easily select keys with your mouse and have the text type in word processors, Web browsers, and other programs. As you type, the utility's Word Prediction feature helps shorten typing time by displaying predicted words either alphabetically or by popularity.

Although intended for users unable to use the standard keyboard, we recommend this application for any user needing a keyboard-replacement application.
