Create Web sites with transparent layers and master pages.
Antenna Web Design Studio's pixel accurate, drag and drop environment gives you freedom to concentrate on aesthetics and design, while powerful features such as master pages and layers save time when you need items to appear on many pages. You can create digital photo galleries, rollover buttons and smooth color gradients using the built-in button, and gradient lab utilities. Organize your pages with transparent layers, make sweeping changes at any time with the styles editor, and give your site extra impact with drop shadows and bevels.
In a word: Intuitive. If you are a visual person like myself, this is the program for you. You place the images, text panels, snippets of code like Jquery or paypal where you want them.they stay....period. The layers allow you to superimpose items, and easily change the design in minutes not hours or days. Antenna comes with simple image editing tools like resiz, crop, buttom makers and some cool features like zoom lens for images... it is definetly worth trying free for 15 days. I came on back in V2.7 its now on V4.. and plan on saying with it. It's too much fun.
What it does it does very well.
Cons
Could use a helping HTML editor of sorts to fine tune behind the scenes for more advanced users...Antenna allows you to add your own HTML or javascript via something called visual HTML which simplifies adding jquery and other scripts but an editor would be be icing.
Summary
Antenna 4.0 is great for building websites fast! It comes with some templates but in reality you do not need any. If you have images and something to say you're half way there.
I really like the product.
Pleased with my results, much better than I expected!
AllyMcBelle
Pros
It is very simple to use, making customizing your buttons, links, styles, quick and easy without having to hunt around. Effects look professional when viewed in browser, not cheap and cheesy. The site.theme page makes it sooo easy to make your own master page, especially compared to other programs I have used that use as similar concept. Help file is very detailed if you get stuck.
Cons
While everything is available to you to customize your style, you do have to hunt around to catch it. I have had to pull out the help file a few times, but mainly because this is my first time using it and I have used the same program for the past 3 years. There are a few glitches, mainly in text formatting.
Summary
Pleasantly surprised with this program. I am rebuilding two websites, after losing my old computer and my old program with it. If I can make my personal site look as good as the club website I do, I will buy this program. Even though I have had to look around for a few features, once I found them, it's a piece of cake to master. Amazing how they made things which seem so complex in other programs very simple.
Excellent product - great online support and community.

Pros
Easy to master. Very flexible. Very reasonably priced- very.
Cons
Needs a few little extra nice toys [ ready to use tables, sliding rulers perhaps ] to pamper owners - although it has tons of extras that save time and add professional looking impact already.
Summary
Get the latest version! You won't be sorry. Makes website designing a real pleasure.
Very capable and user friendly
stourswim
Pros
This is not a web site designer which is no more than a series of premade templates. This is proper web site design software to compete with Front page and Dreamweaver at at the price it is a steal. Excellent backup and user forum
Cons
You need to spend time with the tutorials. You cannot just go in and hope you will pick it up. It is worth the effort
Summary
This software does everything I need. I have a web site for my club that is updated daily and it is a breeze. I have used it for six years. It does everything I would want and more.
It handles flash, visual html, Paypal, Forms you name it. It is also a true WYSIWYG
To cap it all you can actually communicate with the person who writes the software and the thousands of users.
Excellent software.
stourswim
Pros
It really is WYSISWYG and a bargain at three times the price.
Its not a simple template driven programme but a proper fully featured web design tool to compete with Frontpage and Dreamweaver
Cons
None really. Like all capable software, and this is very capable you need to read the instructions look at the videos and persevere a bit at the start but once you get into it you will never look back. The user forum is very active and helpfull
Summary
I needed to build a site for my local swimming club. I had a copy of Dreamweaver and Frontpage. Played with both and found them overblown and with a steep learning curve. Then I looked at others, some shareware others professional but they all seemed to be based on templates. If you dont like their templates, tough. If you want to do something creative they cant do it. Then I found Antenna. At first it seemed difficult. Then I went back to it. Read the tutorials and the forum and got into it. Now Im hooked. It is simply brilliant , easy to use and very capable. Once you get the hang of layers it all falls into place and becomes a powerful tool. Dont expect templates you simply dont need them as its easy to make your own. Although there are now some avaialble. To top it all the software writer actually responds and answers your questions no matter how simple. You dont get that from Microsoft. Dont ignore it, give it a try and persevere you wont be disappointed.
Superb software that beats the big names
stourswim
Pros
It has real depth and capability and is really intuitive and a great way to build web sites. There is a very helpfull and active forum and the software writer answers your questions. Microsoft will never do that. Now at version 3
Cons
nothing. It rocks
Summary
It gives all the functionality that 98% of web designers need without the straight jacket of templates at a price that knocks everyone for six.
Good for simple web site editing

Cons

Summary
A real alternative to Dreamweaver and Frontpage and is better!
stourswim
Pros
I have used this software for two years and run a club website and am developing another. It is not a template based system with all their limitations but a full website design tool like Front page and Dereamweaver. Forget tables ( referred to by a previous reviewer) this is 21st century WYSIWYG. Like all good software there is a learning curve especially the concept of layers and I initially was put off but I perservered , followed the help videos and asked on the forum and suddenly it clicked and now I would use nothing else. It is simply brilliant. There is very little you cannot acheive with Antenna. It has a help forum which is very active and lots of users there to help as well as the software writer who respond quickly to queries. Some of the websites done with it are mind blowing. Im no techi or work for Antenna just a swimming club member who was asked to run a website. Even after two years I find that there are features that I havent used.
Cons
Summary
Easy to work with but limited in functions
Twistedcan
Pros
This software is easy to work with and the functions is relatively easy to figure out. A nice program for beginners.
Cons
This is a drag and drop wysivyg web page program. Althougt the drag and drop functions works ok the rest of the program is still organized in the old fashioned way. Some of the functions is a little quirky to figure out because we have gotten used to everything is true drag and drop including pictures and text from other programs. In Antenna you have to create a folder and place your content in that folder before you can use it. This program lacks help functions like grid, snap and rulers that often comes in handy when designing webpages and you can not edit directly in the HTML code but have to use code inserts in stead. I also had a strange experience; when i renamed one of the pages, the whole site was deleted and gone.
