ZIP Reader is a free Windows utility that allows users to open files that have been compressed using SecureZIP or PKZIP--or any other ZIP product. ZIP Reader decrypts Secure ZIP files created by any PKWARE product, regardless of hardware platform. That means Windows users can access files encrypted and compressed on Windows, UNIX, Linux, iSeries, and zSeries systems. Simple to use with a slick auto launch feature--just double click on a ZIP file or drag-and-drop the ZIP file to the ZIP Reader icon. The file unzips automatically.
Version 8.0.18 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Pros: zip has been around for a while...
Cons: Why still zip when digital vaults offer compression, encryption and abot 100 more features like revision control, synchronize, backup, vault shortcuts and so much more? deVault is free and is the way to go now. Take a look for yourself at ekwintools.com

Pros: Fast , easy to use .
Cons: For opening archives only , no extended capabilities ( e.g. creating archives ) . Doesn't restore your previous file associations when uninstalled ( WinZip had to restore its " Open With Winzip " function ) .
