Publisher's description of XP Firewall Monitor
XPFiremon is a system tray monitoring application for the built-in Windows XP Firewall. It will monitor the settings and services and alert if they are stopped or disabled. Windows should also alert you if the firewall is disabled but depending on the circumstances it appears slow to do so. It's also comforting to many users to see something saying that their protection is active and not just inactive. XPFiremon also provides an easy right click interface for managing the firewall (stopping, starting, or configuring). Version 1.04 fixed a bug which occasionally caused an application error. Added a menu option to check for updates.

Version: XP Firewall Monitor 1.04
"maybe 2 1/2 stars for un-installer"
Pros: adds icon for shot-cut to f/w, gives advanced warning that warning balloon is coming out, gives peace of mind to the unsure, quick link to promos as there isn't enough on the web (sarcasm, if you didn't realize that, you'll need this dLo)
Cons: adds nothing else, and updates thru a web-site visit, where you can by the back-up CD just in case the icon disappears (more sarcasm)

Version: XP Firewall Monitor 1.04
Pros: Does exactly what its supposed to do - "monitor the Windows XP Firewall". Lets you know if it is not running, gives you the option to restart/turn on/turn off the XP Firewall. All from the close reach of your system tray. No reliability problems, bugs or errors ever experienced. Low memory usage.
Cons: None.
