  Very unstable, constantly crashing

  I can only rate this as mediocre as, although the product is good when it works, this is a a rarity. I've had it crash upon loading a template around 95% of the time and when I have been able to start working with it I've had it crash mid-work around 50% of the time. All in all, this would be a fantastic piece of software if it worked properly but, as it is, it's coded badly and until it's fixed I don't see myself bothering with wrestling with the thing

  An excellent free tool. No more messing around with complicated graphics programs just to make a website header.

  Wish it had more templates in the free version!

  Pros

  I've made some nice Headers with it and it's easy to use.

  Cons

  DON'T and I mean DON'T be stupid and fall for that free header template offer. They say give me you email address and we'll send you a code for something like 500 or 5000 free header templates. WELL IT'S A LIE !!!! All you get it tons of mail.

  Summary

  I like the product it works very well. and for the constant mail I just send it to my junk files. I would have given it a 5 but for the fact that they lied and said they'd send me a code for free templates but all I get is non stop mail I gave them a 4. If the mail don't stop I'll just block their address.

  Pros

  if you register for free online you get 500 nice looking templates! if you want simple good looking headers or banners thats the program to use. its free for personal and commercial use

  Cons

  i was reluctant to download the program because there was no cnet review but i gave it a try and no regrets.

  Not much! Amending headings in previous versions was a bit clumsy. When you re-open a saved header I found it difficult to change some elements like text and imported graphics. Not yet tried it with this new version.

  Easy to use Free Well thought out Comes with readymade headers End result is far better than I can do in other packages

  Nothing wrong at all - not a thing! How can you fault something as good as this that's free. You'd have to be either weird or ungrateful :-)

  Summary

  This is an amazing piece of software that I would gladly have paid for. I still can't get over that it is free. For someone like me, who struggles with design, it is an absolute godsend. Prior to getting this I had tried everything from PaintshopPro to Photoshop. Although these are obviously more powerful overall - they're full of features I don't need. Whereas XHeader lets me do what I want to do quickly and easily, and the end result is ten times better. Great work and highly recommended!

  Not as many features as photoshop ;)

  corrupt install file at best - possibly malware - - I have downloaded the file 3 times - different sources all redirect to cnet - file is corrupt wasted 15 minutes watching the tutorials and another 15 minutes trying to install on several different machines with different OS's - don't make the same mistake. If someone from the company wants to apologize for wasting my time and send me a link to an actual install, I'll try again - looks like a great program but for now - run away<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Jan 12, 2010<p/>XHeader responded almost immediately to my problem and emailed me a link to a working file - the first download file had some sort of corruption. I installed perfectly this time and I'm glad this is resolved - this is a really great tool!
